With a rich history trailing back more than 100 Years Oakwood's journey began back in 1917 when Mr. Clayton Walker acquired a stretch of lakeside land to develop what would later become a renowned golf resort. Building works commenced in 1919, and by 1922, the doors of the resort swung open to the public. Over the years, the resort underwent significant growth, including the unveiling of the first nine holes of the golf course in 1926 and the establishment of the Oak Dining Room in 1930, a cherished feature that remains in operation today.
